First and foremost I am a human being occupying planet Earth. Connection to this experience of life is curious, vital and radiant. It is my goal in this iteration to create with purpose, nurture the plants and people around me and express exuberantly.
My Story
Christy Carico is an environmental artist and activist who uses her work to raise awareness and inspire change. Carico is a multimedia artist known for her "waste fashion" and acrylic paintings. Raised in the Sierra Foothills of California, Christy has always been creating. "Ever since I was little I recall crafting." In her younger years she focused on art as a hobby. Art became a consistent practice throughout her life, and came into the forefront in her late 20's. Christy's superpower is creativity. She creates to express herself and to promote curiosity and excitement about planetary issues. Strongly focused on community collaboration, her work extends into amending single us laws, inspired by the waste she used within her work. Carico's work has been shown in the Croker Art Gallery, Sacramento and Coast Gallery, Big Sur. With a need to create, Christy is now producing CHildren's books. Be on the look out for the next one!
